Digital transformation: NRP 77 develops synthesis and dialogue formats

NRP 77 is in its final phase: all projects are complete, and the synthesis report will be published at the end of May. It outlines key findings and presents 12 policy recommendations for the future of digital transformation.

All 46 research groups of NRP 77 "Digital Transformation" completed their work as of December 2024. The research results from their projects will, however, continue to be published. A total of around 350 research reports have been published to date. In February 2025, the programme's international Steering Committee met on the Weissenstein to discuss and collate the diverse results, derive key findings and formulate impulses for practice in Switzerland. Based on this preliminary work, the Steering Committee drew up a synthesis report over the course of last year, which will be presented at a national press conference at the end of May.

Expert dialogue on the key findings and takeaways

The publication of this report is not the last work to do in NRP 77. Knowledge transfer is now taking the main focus. The aim is to deliver the results to where they will have an impact: in politics, administration, business, education and civil society. Presentations, specialist events and discussions with key stakeholder groups will take centre stage over the course of this year. Exchanges will take place along the lines of the three thematic areas of NRP 77: education; the labour market; and ethics, trustworthiness and governance. Together with the target audience of the research results, we discuss the consequences of the research.

Digital information services: microsite, chatbot, videos and podcasts

An additional microsite is being developed for the digital preparation of the synthesis report, which will be available in German, French and English. A chatbot that answers specific questions about NRP 77 is integrated into the microsite. Its answers are based on a database that includes all scientific publications from the 46 research projects.

In addition, short videos provide illustrative insights into selected NRP 77 research projects. In a podcast series, stakeholders from politics, administration, education and the business world also discuss and comment on key findings, takeaways and current developments relating to digital transformation. These contributions will be available from June 2026.

We provide regular updates about all these developments on LinkedIn and in our newsletter. We look forward to sharing the results with you – and to thinking about the digital transformation together.
